Golfing
at Panama City Beach
Golfers will
find eight 18-hole layouts and two nine-hole courses in Panama
City Beach. Most welcome the public.
One of Panama City Beach’s
best-kept secrets was revealed when Golf Digest Magazine named
Panama City Beach the third best golf town in the country.
Golf enthusiasts have long known that the best sand and water
action in Panama City Beach is found just off the shoreline
at the area’s five championship golf courses.
According to Golf Digest Magazine, Panama City
Beach earned their top spot in this ranking. While researching
the list of the best golf destinations in the United States,
each area’s “golfability” was considered.
Golfability includes four major factors: the number of courses
per capita, the average greens fees, the star ratings/ difficulty
rankings and weather (temperature, humidity, wind & precipitation).
These factors determine the number of golfable days per year.
Panama City Beach’s estimated 320 days
of sunny blue skies per year, a year-round average temperature
of 74 degrees, a population-to-course average of 17, five
challenging, championship golf courses and an average greens
fee of $46.80, pushed this seaside destination to the top
of the list.
